TERMS AND CONDITIONS: OPPO PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the participation in the OPPO Photography Contest 2026 organized by OPPO Bangladesh.

By participating in this Contest, the participant agrees to be bound by these Terms and the decisions of the Organizer, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.

1. EVENT BACKGROUND

The OPPO Photography Contest 2026 is a User-Generated Content (UGC) campaign designed to celebrate the art of mobile photography in Bangladesh. The contest aims to discover and showcase the creative potential of Bangladeshi photography enthusiasts, encouraging them to capture the essence of life, culture, and nature through the lens of a smartphone.

I. CONTEST METHODOLOGY

To ensure fair play and broader inclusiveness, the contest is divided into two distinct participation streams:

  1. OPPO Category: Exclusively for photos captured on OPPO smartphones.
  2. General Category: Open for photos captured on any other mobile smartphone brand.

Both categories will compete across 5 (five) distinct themes:

  • Portrait: Candid emotions, joy, and celebration (Telephoto focus).
  • Nature/Wildlife: Landscapes, birds, macro shots (Zoom clarity).
  • Street/Architecture: City life, geometry, and traffic patterns.
  • Low Light: Night cityscapes, silhouettes, indoor low-light portraits.
  • Heritage/Culture: Heritage sites, ethnicity, and festivals.

2. MECHANISMS OF CONTEST

I. ELIGIBLE WORKS

  1. Format: Submissions must be in JPEG or PNG format.
  2. Size: The file size should typically be between 2MB and 10MB to ensure quality.
  3. Originality: The photo must be an original work captured by the participant. Plagiarism or using photos downloaded from the internet will result in immediate disqualification.
  4. Editing: Basic post-processing (brightness, contrast, color balance, cropping) via mobile apps is permitted.
  5. Prohibitions:
    • No AI-generated images or compositing (removing/adding objects).
    • No photos taken with DSLRs, Mirrorless, or Action Cameras.
    • No offensive, obscene, political, or religiously sensitive content that violates the laws or cultural norms of Bangladesh.

II. PARTICIPATION MECHANISM

(1) Participant’s Eligibility

  • The contest is open to all legal residents of Bangladesh.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.

(2) Equipment and Submission of Works

  • Platform: All entries must be uploaded via the official micro-site
  • Submission Limit: Each participant may submit a maximum of 5 (five) photos in total.
  • Watermark & Device Rules (Strictly Enforced):
    • OPPO Category: Participants MUST enable the “Shot on OPPO” watermark (Camera Settings > Watermark) on their image. Photos without the specific OPPO watermark will be disqualified from this category.
    • General Category: Participants MUST NOT include any watermark (device name, time stamp, or personal signature). Photos with watermarks will be disqualified.

(3) Timeline

  • Submission Period: February 1, 2026 (00:01 BST) – May 30, 2026 (23:59 BST).
  • Entries submitted before or after this period will not be accepted.

III. WORK REVIEW

  1. Pre-Screening: All entries will undergo an initial review by the Organizer to ensure compliance with technical rules (watermarks, device data/EXIF data check) and content guidelines.
  2. Judging: Shortlisted entries will be evaluated by the Panel of Jury based on Creativity, Relevance to Theme, Composition, and Technical Excellence.

IV. SELECTION OF WINNERS AND AWARDS

(1) Winners and Awards The contest will recognize 8 (eight) major winners based on the scores provided by the Jury.

  • 1st Prize (Grand Winner):
    • Cash Prize: BDT 1,00,000 (One Lakh Taka)
    • Device: Latest OPPO Smartphone
    • Education: Photography Certificate Course
  • 2nd Prize:
    • Cash Prize: BDT 50,000 (Fifty Thousand Taka)
    • Device: Latest OPPO Smartphone
    • Education: Photography Certificate Course
  • 3rd Prize:
    • Cash Prize: BDT 30,000 (Thirty Thousand Taka)
    • Device: Latest OPPO Smartphone
    • Education: Photography Certificate Course
  • Category Winners (5 Winners – 1 per Theme):
    • Best Portrait, Best Nature, Best Street, Best Low Light, Best Heritage
    • Cash Prize: BDT 20,000 (Twenty Thousand Taka) each
    • Device: Latest OPPO Smartphone
    • Education: Photography Certificate Course

(2) Prize Distribution Rules

  • Verification: Winners must present a valid NID/Passport and proof of ownership of the device (if requested via EXIF data verification) to claim the prize.
  • Non-Transferable: Prizes are non-transferable and the “Device” or “Course” cannot be exchanged for cash.

V. WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT

  • Winners will be announced on the official OPPO Bangladesh Facebook page and the contest micro-site by [TBD].
  • Winners will be contacted via the phone number/email provided during registration. If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 (seven) days, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible runner-up.

VI. PANEL OF JURY

  • The Jury will consist of professional photographers, visual artists (potentially including representatives from partner institutes), and OPPO Brand Representatives.
  • The Jury’s decision regarding the selection of winners is final and cannot be challenged in any court of law.

VII. MISCELLANEOUS

  • Social Media Bonus: While sharing photos on social media improves visibility, it does not guarantee a win unless the photo is formally uploaded to the micro-site.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or amend the contest and these terms without prior notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil disturbance, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation.

3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY TERMS AND IMAGE RIGHTS

I. ASSIGNMENT OF PARTICIPANTS’ INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

By submitting an entry, the participant grants OPPO Bangladesh and its affiliates a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and display the photograph for marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes (including but not limited to social media, billboards, and website galleries) without any further compensation.

II. NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY’S RIGHTS

The participant warrants that the submitted photograph is their original work and does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity, or intellectual property rights of any third party. The participant agrees to indemnify OPPO Bangladesh against any legal claims arising from a breach of this warranty.

III. AUTHORIZATION OF PARTICIPANT IMAGE RIGHT

If the submitted photograph contains recognizable individuals, the participant warrants that they have obtained the necessary permission/model release from said individuals to share the photo for this contest and its subsequent commercial use by the Organizer.

4. DATA PRIVACY PROTECTION CLAUSE

  1. Data Collection: The Organizer collects personal data (Name, Mobile Number, Email, Social Media ID) solely for the purpose of administering the contest and verifying eligibility.
  2. Usage: The Organizer will not sell or share participant data with third parties for unrelated marketing purposes. Data will be processed in accordance with the Digital Security Act and relevant privacy laws of Bangladesh.
  3. Retention: Personal data of non-winners will be retained only as long as necessary for the contest administration.

5. LIABILITY AND REPRESENTATIONS

I. ORGANIZER’S REPRESENTATION

The Organizer represents that the contest will be conducted fairly and in accordance with these Terms.

II. ORGANIZER’S LIABILITY

The Organizer shall not be liable for:

  • Any technical failure of the micro-site, internet connectivity issues, or failed uploads.
  • Any damage to the participant’s mobile device during the creation of the work.
  • Any errors or delays in notification due to incorrect contact details provided by the participant.

III. PARTICIPANT’S LIABILITY

The participant shall be solely liable for any legal action taken by third parties regarding the content of their submitted photos (e.g., defamation, privacy violation).

6. INTERPRETATION AND DISCRETION

The Organizer (OPPO Bangladesh) reserves the sole right to interpret these Terms and Conditions. In case of any ambiguity or unaddressed scenarios, the decision of the Organizer shall be final and binding.
